The short version: PressWell apps store all your health data on your device only. We do not collect, transmit, or have access to any of your personal or health information. Your data is yours alone.

PressWell LLC (“PressWell,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) develops health tracking applications for iOS and Android. This Privacy Policy describes how our apps handle information and is designed to help you understand your rights and our practices. This policy applies to all PressWell applications: PressWell BP Tracker, PressWell Glucose Tracker, Blood Pressure Quest and any future applications we publish.

Our Privacy Commitment

PressWell was founded by a practicing physician who believes your health data should remain private and under your control. Unlike many health applications that collect and monetize user data, PressWell apps are built on a fundamentally different model: all data stays on your device. We chose this architecture deliberately to protect your privacy and eliminate the risks associated with cloud-based health data storage.

What Data We Collect

We do not collect, store, or transmit your health readings, medications, notes, contact information, location data, analytics, or advertising identifiers.

All health data you enter into any PressWell app is stored exclusively on your device using local on-device storage. This data never leaves your device unless you manually choose to export it using the in-app backup feature.

The only data processed outside your device is a randomly generated anonymous identifier used by our subscription provider, RevenueCat, to verify whether your premium subscription is active. This identifier is not linked to your name, email, health data, or any other personally identifiable information. It cannot be used to identify you. No health data is transmitted to RevenueCat or any other third party.

No Account Required

PressWell apps do not require you to create an account, register, provide an email address, or log in. There is no user authentication system within our apps. You can begin using any PressWell app immediately after download with no personal information required.

On-Device Storage

All data you enter is stored locally on your device using industry-standard on-device storage. Because we do not operate servers or databases, there is no cloud component to our apps. This means we cannot access your data, we cannot recover your data if your device is lost or damaged, your data is protected by your device’s own security features (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID), and no data breach on our end can expose your information, because we do not hold it.

Device Backups

Your device may automatically include PressWell app data in system backups to iCloud (iOS) or Google Drive (Android), depending on your device settings. These backups are managed entirely by Apple or Google and are subject to their respective privacy policies and encryption standards. PressWell does not initiate, control, access, or store these backups. We have no ability to read or retrieve data from your device backups. If you wish to exclude PressWell data from cloud backups, you can adjust your device’s backup settings. For instructions, refer to Apple Support or Google Support.

Data Backup and Transfer

Each PressWell app includes a JSON export/import feature that allows you to create a backup of your data and transfer it to a new device. When you use this feature, the backup file is created and stored locally on your device. You choose where to save or share the file. You are solely responsible for the security and storage of any exported backup files. We do not have access to or copies of your backup files at any time.

Subscriptions and Payments

PressWell apps offer premium features through subscriptions managed entirely by Apple (via the App Store) or Google (via Google Play). We do not collect, process, or store any payment information. All billing, subscription management, renewal, cancellation, and refund processing is handled directly by Apple or Google through your existing account. We never see your credit card number, billing address, or other financial details. Subscription Management (RevenueCat)

We use RevenueCat, a third-party service, to manage subscription entitlements (determining whether your premium features should be active). RevenueCat receives only an anonymous identifier generated by your device to verify your subscription status. RevenueCat does not receive any of your health data, personal information, or app usage data. You can review RevenueCat’s privacy practices at revenuecat.com/privacy.

The anonymous identifier processed by RevenueCat constitutes a device-level or app-level identifier used solely for app functionality (subscription verification). It is not linked to your identity, is not used for tracking or advertising, and is disclosed in our App Store Privacy Label and Google Play Data Safety disclosures accordingly.

Analytics and Tracking

PressWell apps do not include any third-party analytics SDKs, advertising networks, tracking pixels, or behavioral monitoring tools. We do not track how you use our apps, which screens you visit, how often you open the app, or any other usage metrics. We do not use the Apple IDFA (Identifier for Advertisers) or any equivalent Android identifier.

Advertising

PressWell apps do not display advertisements of any kind. We do not partner with ad networks and do not share any data with advertisers.

Third-Party Services

The only third-party service integrated into PressWell apps is RevenueCat for subscription management, as described above. We do not integrate with any other third-party services that collect, process, or receive your data. When HealthKit or Health Connect integration becomes available in a future update, data access will be limited to reading health data you explicitly authorize. Any data read from HealthKit or Health Connect will be stored only on your device and will not be transmitted to us or any third party.

Data Retention and Deletion

Since all data is stored on your device, you have full control over its retention and deletion. You can delete individual readings or entries within the app at any time. You can clear all app data through the app’s settings. You can delete the app entirely, which removes all associated data from your device. We do not retain any copies of your data because we never had access to it.

Children’s Privacy

PressWell apps are intended for use by adults managing chronic health conditions. Our apps are not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect any information from children. Since we do not collect any personal information from any user, there is no risk of inadvertent collection of children’s data.

International Users

PressWell apps are available worldwide through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Because all data is stored locally on your device and never transmitted to us, there are no cross-border data transfers associated with our apps. Your data remains on your device in your jurisdiction at all times.

Your Rights

Regardless of where you are located, you maintain full control over your data because it exists only on your device. You can access, modify, export, or delete your data at any time directly within the app. Because we do not collect or store your data, there is no need to submit a data access or deletion request to us.

PressWell does not sell consumer health data. We have never sold consumer health data and have no plans to do so.

If you have questions about your rights under applicable privacy laws, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the Washington My Health My Data Act, or other state consumer health data privacy laws that may apply, please contact us and we will assist you to the extent applicable.

HIPAA and Health Data Regulations

PressWell LLC is not a covered entity or business associate under HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act). Our apps are consumer health tracking tools, not medical devices or healthcare provider systems. Because we do not collect, store, transmit, or have access to any protected health information (PHI), HIPAA’s data handling requirements related to transmission and storage do not apply to our service. Your health data remains under your sole control on your device.

FTC Health Breach Notification Rule

The Federal Trade Commission’s Health Breach Notification Rule (HBNR) requires certain entities not covered by HIPAA to notify consumers if there is an unauthorized acquisition or disclosure of identifiable health information. Because PressWell does not collect, receive, store, or transmit any individually identifiable health information to any server, database, or third party, there is no health data held by PressWell that could be subject to a breach. If our practices change in the future such that any identifiable health information is collected or transmitted, we will comply with the HBNR and all applicable notification requirements.

Security

Your data is protected by the security features built into your iOS or Android device, including device encryption, passcode or biometric authentication (Face ID, Touch ID, fingerprint), and the operating system’s app sandboxing, which prevents other apps from accessing PressWell’s stored data. We recommend keeping your device’s operating system up to date and using a strong passcode or biometric lock to protect all data on your device, including data stored by PressWell apps.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we make changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. If we make material changes that affect how your data is handled (for example, if we introduce any form of data collection in a future version), we will notify you through the app before implementing those changes and obtain your consent where required. Continued use of our apps after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
